Pier Market Seafood Restaurant

We ate there today. We had the clam chowder and fishermans platter. The food was great! Everyone was very nice and polite, the food was served after a very short wait. We had a great time, thank you!

I forgot to photograph our meal!! We took a small bite and couldn't stop eating. It was incredibly good. We had the Mixed grill and a crab cocktail. I had a bloody Mary and my hubby some local brew. My goodness. One of the best meals we've had this week in Cali. Bravo!! Service was excellent as well. It was nice to have a friendly waitress, our first in 7 days in Cali. It seems like the norm to be a jerk waiter, but not here!

Awesome location with a view overlooking the sea lions! When the sea lions get fiesty, you can hear them from inside! The food was good. Our table had chowder in the bread bowl, crab cakes, and the fisherman's platter. All were very good and fresh. The staff were fantastic. The place was very clean.

Loved our experience! We came in with a stroller and they really went above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure we had enough space with our baby. The sea food was great, so many nice dishes to share for the table. Highly recommend the clam chowder in the bread ! Definitely great for large or small groups.

First-rate atmosphere and super welcoming service. The meals were crisp and yummy. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. Fair rates and generous portions. Great job.

We registered at the entrance and they told us to come back in 30 minutes. I received a message in 27 minutes telling that the table is ready and we need to ask the host within 5 minutes. Pretty comfortable system! Food and service is also very good! Fast and fresh! Jambalaya and Crab cakes dinner - pictures attached. House draft beer is perfect. Altogether we paid $65 (dinner for 2) plus service and tips. I think it's reasonable for this quality. Liked the place. Would definitely recommend!

First time ever having clam chowder. And in a sour dough bowl. And i can say i wasnt disappointed!! Perfect for the cold weather. Food was quick to come out and was fresh. On top of that had the Sea food platter which had no chance of survival!! Will definitely will return..

Excellent manager (blond in shape woman) who was visible and kind. She was serving, cleaning and you could tell she was a team player. Great drinks, clean unisex bathrooms, and clam chowder was the best I've ever had, garlic half crab perfect and the friend seafood platter yummy! Will come again!

Food was good. But the place is so loud. When I asked if the music could be turned down I was told it is preset and cannot be adjusted, this is so lame! For the price you should be able to enjoy not only the meal but the ambience. A bit pricey, but my husband and I wanted to enjoy some good seafood. I noticed more then half the staff not wearing name badges so I am not able to recognize anyone specific. I recommend this place if you don’t mind the noise and have some money to spend.

Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Food was marginal for the price. It is the pier though. Maybe my selection just wasn't so great. Wife had salad with ahi tuna. Good but small. Clam chowder in bread bowl is good.

A little pricey, but everyone enjoyed their meal. The view was amazing, our waiter was really good and the wait for the table was not long at all.

Fantastic Service! They help get our food super fast when we're running late for the ferry.. and the food is wonderful... We love this place!

Great place to stop and eat at with a wide variety of seafood. Great location and right in he heart of Pier 39. Kind of spendy, but what seafood restaurant isn't down by the wharf. Make a reservation and try to sit near the window and get great views of the ships and a slight view of the seals.

Place was nice with great food options if you like seafood. The Jambalaya is totally recommended.

Yummy!! It tastes veryyy good! Location is great .It has a view on the bay. Mo was very nice and helpful. We ordered the whole garlic crab it was amazing and the sweet and sour calamari are a must.

We chose to eat here instead of most of the other eateries, and we made an excellent choice. The seafood is a must try! Well you are in the Pier and you must eat at the Pier. They serve sustainably sourced seafood in their menu. Must eats are the Clam Chowder soup and the Grilled seafood platter. If you wanna indulge in something more than...go for the Crabs! Oh! They have a live kitchen too....and you also get the view of the Pier.

The food was quite good, but they were under - staffed. Our server was great, but she had way too many tables to cover. Worse yet was the 5% "mandated employee benefits" tax. By putting it on the bill so openly, they are obviously protesting this tax. Perhaps they should focus on taking better care of their employees (like not short staffing) instead of this whiny public protest. I will not return.

Really good clam chowder. I had a bowl with a side of sourdough bread. The bread was excellent and tangy. My husband had clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, but the bread was not as good as the loaf that came with a regular soup.

Absolutely loved the food! We were sat at our table very quickly (on a Friday).. it was a very busy place with quick service. I would highly recommend it!

Love their seafood from crab cakes to cioppino to their crab salad, everything is delicious. Lively environment with a bit of wait time for large party. Good service, will definitely come back again.

My husband ordered fish and chips which were absolutely delicious. I ordered the salmon fillet burger, although dry was still tasty. My daughter ordered the kids chicken tenders and were great. Good food

Love dining here whenever I get a chance. The ambiance and setting of the restaurant is really awesome. Yes, a bit of a tourist trap but still nice to come and enjoy the food and view of the bay.

Our group of four really lucked into this restaurant. We managed to arrive before the line had started to form outside and were seated immediately. You will hear people lauding the clam chowder for good reason, but all the seafood we tried was either very good or great. We started with fried calamari and BBQ shrimp appetizers and a bowl of chowder to share. The calamari was amazingly tender and was great in the cocktail sauce but even better in the BBQ sauce. Our group tried the salmon sandwich, the fried shrimp, and the lobster tails and all the seafood was tender, moist, and delicious. Now that we know how good everything is we would brave the line for it.

This place was amazing! The service was timely and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious.

There was a waiting time of 15 minutes on a Saturday noon. Service was good. Staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Clam Chowder was delicious!! Liked their fries and pulled pork as well.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. PLENTY TO CHOOSE FROM AS FAR AS FRUITS AND VEGGIES IS CONCERNED, NOT TO MENTION THE ARTS AND CRAFTS THROUGHOUT, AND ALL THE VENDORS, SO FRIENDLY AND SOME CHEAP ITEMS THAT WERE UNBELIEVABLE... VERY NICE ATMOSPHERE, AND THE WEATHER WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

First time ever trying the clean chowder in a bread bowl. Two thumbs up.My daughter had calamari which is the best I've ever tried. Not chewy whatsoever!!

I came here with friends during a work trip. We got a seat on the patio where we were able to enjoy the wonderful San Fran weather. For starters, we ordered crab cakes and crab cocktail. My buddy really loved crab cakes and this was her third order in San Fran at various restaurants. Of all that she had, she said this one was the best. I too really liked my crab cocktail. There crab was so fresh and I didn't have to peel it. Score! For the main, I got a clam linguine, while the others got a half a garlic crab and a fish dish. We all enjoyed our dishes. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the garlic bread that came with my linguine because it was a bit burnt.Overall, great experience!

I ate at this lovely restaurant for my brother's birthday celebration.  Nice view of the pier outside and fast service. The sourdough bread was delicious (Maybe even better than Boudin close-by). And the food was fresh and tasty. The waitress brought a lovely chocolate cake for my brother as a birthday treat. Afterwards, we walked down the pier to see the sea lions. What a big drama show that was and a nice way to cap the dinner off that night.

How nice to find a really decent eatery in the heart of one of the most touristy places in San Francisco. Fried calamari was fat and juicy. Oysters were fresh and flavorful. Seafood pasta- tasty and loaded with generous portions of assorted seafood. Service was efficient and on the dot, never interrupting but yet always attentive. Good job.

Lovely! First timer here traveling on my own. Plenty to look at for a couple of miles! The shops are cute and offer a nice afternoon of travel. I liked the kitchen gadgetry on the far end.

Really wanted to try the famous clam chowder and we ended up visiting this restaurant bcs of the reviews. We are so glad to choose this restaurant because of the great atmosphere inside and we got a table near the window with a great sight of the pier, also the friendly and welcoming service. The food turned out really tasty and definitely gonna recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Crowded, but the food was good. A little pricey, but they do have good portions as well as a few items under 15 dollars. We waited 20 minutes. Service was pleasant. I enjoyed the clam chowder in a bread bowl. It's very close to the sea lions.

Ate here tonight! Was great food! Great service! Try the Crazy Jalapeño!! Very good! We were greeted right away, both our servers were on top of everything and super accommodating!

Love it here! The waiter is nice! The food is super good! I love the fish&chips but we requested the chef to remove the beer butter. I would love to come here again

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the seafood was. I thought for sure this place was a tourist trap with mediocre food. It was not! Got the pier plate which had salmon shrimp and cod. It was excellent. The chowder was pretty good too. Great service at the bar.

Nice casual restaurant located at pier 39. Menu is good and portions are generous. Service is good. Clam chowder with added crab meat tasted delicious. Fish & chips and crab cakes were tasty as well. Beautiful view of the sea is cherry on top.

Spent 2 wonderful days in San Francisco and was looking for the best of the BEST restaurants on the Pier so I searched for a restaurant through Google of course and found this one! We ordered the Sweet and Sour Calamari and the Crab Cakes for appetizers and they were so delicious! I have never had Sweet and Sour Calamari and it was recommended to me by our waiter, and it was a great recommendation so I appreciate that! The crab cakes were so good as well. For our main course we were recommended the Cajun Lobster Tails, they weren't on the menu but our waiter told us about it and we were super happy he did, we absolutely loved it! It came with veggies and red potatoes on the side. It was an excellent meal and we totally recommend this restaurant to everyone. The location, food and service is a 10 out of 10 for me! We cannot wait to come back!

Delicious food, all 4 of us finished our entire plate. Our server was prompt and courteous. Definitely will come again.
